Here are some examples of some of the work the practice has undertaken:

  • Willey Wood Court (Eco-friendly conversion)
  • Malcoff Farrm House (Barn conversion)
  • Sunday School, Tintwistle (Conversion of semi-derelict building)
  • Little Hayfield, High Peak (Amalgamation of property with outhouse)

  • Willey Wood Court
A sensitive eco-friendly conversion from traditional farm buildings.

From redundant farm buildings, three homes were created, which combined modern eco-friendly solutions with the retained original features, including ground source (geo-thermal) heating.

    Malcoff Farm House
Transformation of unused barn into an integral part of the house.

The barn was remodelled to form a new study, bedroom and bathroom, whilst maintaining the original character of the internal roof truss within the décor.

This particular dwelling is a grade 2 listed building, so as well as obtaining detailed planning permission and building regulations approval, it was also necessary to secure listed building consent.

On this project Peter Young & Co also oversaw contract management to completion.

    Sunday School, Tintwistle
Conversion of semi-derelict, 19th century Sunday School, into family dwelling, whilst retaining an area for community use.

The open knave area of the church was retained to be used for community functions, whist the ends of the building were converted into bedrooms, bathroom, living area, family room and kitchen.

This is a grade 2 listed building, so as well as detailed planning permission and building regulations approval, listed building consent had to be sought.

    Little Hayfield, High Peak
Combining of redundant outbuilding with existing stone property.

This semi-detached stone property was joined to an existing outbuilding in order to enlarge the main body of the house, and to form a new living area, downstairs cloakroom and study.

This successful project involved complex negotiation with the Peak District Park Planning Authority, in order to achieve detailed planning permission and building regulations.

These are just a few examples from a wide range of work the practice has undertaken. If you would like to see anymore examples of work, or discuss a possible project, then please get in contact.
